30 Days on the Road in Italy…Day 14: Umbria

Come with us as we explore Italy and check out properties for Gira! Italian Vacation Rentals.

Today we do some more touring in Umbria, a great spot for a holiday in Italy.  It’s off the beaten path, it’s authentic and it’s well placed for day trips to lots of interesting places. Here are some beautiful villas in Umbria that we love:

Val di Marco in UmbriaVal di Marco’s location near Valfabbrica in the hills behind Assisi makes it a perfect holiday home for large groups and family reunions.  It provides a great sense of peace and privacy while also being in good striking distance to the sights to be seen in this part of Umbria – Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia, Umbertide, Todi and many others.   The closest town is Pianello and there is an excellent restaurant located less than 2 kilometers from the villa.

Casale Rose Garden near TodiCasale Rose Garden is situated only 8 kilometers from the center of Todi, on the top of a hill that offers one of the most spectacular views of the skyline of the city and its medieval buildings, including the church of Santa Maria della Consolazione, one of the most beautiful of the Italian Renaissance. It`s a typical stone-built farmhouse of the area, which recent and attentive restoration work has transformed into a prestigious, cozy residence equipped with all the comforts. The interiors have been furnished with taste and elegance and they create the warm and inviting atmosphere typical of country manor houses.

Bella Perugia in UmbriaBella Perugia is a beautiful country house set on a hilltop overlooking the ancient city of Perugia.  The house is completely independent and enclosed.  The views from the house are lovely, and the countryside offers many opportunities for walks or biking excursions.  Bella Perugia has been thoughtfully restored and furnished to provide a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

Lunario in Spello Umbria ItalyLunario is in perfect harmony with the extraordinary charm of Spello, the delightful Umbrian hill town, and the visitor will find it hard not to fall in love with both. Set in the old center of the village, inside the walls, it has been carved out of an ancient church and skilfully renovated by the owners, who have lengthy professional experience in welcoming their guests with consummate care. From a small street winding through the center of the village, a gate leads directly into the beautiful garden of the house, boasting a magnificent view over the hills and the plain stretched out in front.

Il Convento in Campagna - La Torre - UmbriaIl Convento in Campagna is a tastefully restored 10th century convent located not far from Perugia and Lake Trasimeno. It has been restored with great care and offers wonderful views of the Umbrian countryside. The pool is located in a panoramic spot and there are furnished outdoor areas throughout the residence. Looking to walk into a village? The small village of Mantignana is right next door!

Coming up for tomorrow:  Tuscany
