Spello casts its spell

There is no such thing as the ideal or most charming Italian village. But you would have to admit–Spello in Umbria comes pretty close.

As one of “Italy’s most charming villages”, Spello puts on a magnificent show whenever you might choose to visit. Stroll casually along its stone streets and stop in its many restaurants and shops. The Piazza della Repubblica is the core of the upper part of town, and from here you can wander any number of narrow streets, lined with potted plants and flowers. Walk a short while in any direction and you can appreciate one of its many vistas of the Umbrian countryside.

Spello also offers two unique and beautiful five star accommodations for rental, only a stone’s throw from the Piazza.

Lunario is a three bedroom gem, which sleeps six and provides a small pool and soothing view of the valley below. It’s in a spot that is comfortably away from traffic, up a short stone lane. The owner has decorated the villa with visually stunning and tasteful furnishings and art work from various parts of the world, in a manner that delights and fascinates the eye.

On the same lane is Casetta del Lunario, and cozy hideaway for two (or an additional for a child). Also on display here is the owner’s unique style, which has to be seen to be appreciated.

Come to Spello and stay for a while, because from here you can reach all of Umbria and many parts of Tuscany with an easy day trip. Even Rome can be reached in and hour and a half from nearby Foligno, just down the hill. Come also to Spello to simply stay here in this amazing hill town!
