Karina Embraces Lake Como

How you experience Lake Como depends a lot upon the location of your accommodation. Each town and village has its own culture, its own relationship to the water and to the communities around it.

Karina has a privileged position on a hill above that lake that offers a lovely view.  You can enjoy it from the cultivated garden or while dining on the outdoor terrace. You can also take it all in while sunbathing or lounging in the outdoor Jacuzzi, which has been strategically placed for the best panorama. Pour a little prosecco and relax in the tub at the end of a long day of touring.

It also benefits from being in a very exciting part of the lake. In one direction, it’s only a short distance to visit the splendid Villa d’Este, one of Italy’s most impressive luxury hotels. You may also occasionally see the helicopters passing by to bring in celebrities to George Clooney’s nearby villa.

Take a short five minute walk to the lakeside village and see the ancient boatyard. Or, spend a day taking the ferry to the classic towns of Como, Bellagio, Menaggio, Tremezzo,  and Varenna.  Visit the historic Villa Carlotta, Villa del Balbianello and many others.

If you love to shop, you can visit an outlet center just across the Swiss border in Lugano, offering Prada, Dolce & Gabanna and Ferragamo shops. The town of Como is very close, and it’s famous for the production of silk.

While you are here, you can enjoy an evening at the gaming tables at Campione d’Italia Casino on the Italian side of Lake Lugano or at the casinos located at Mendrisio just inside Switzerland.

Lake Como abounds in recreational opportunities, including water skiing, jet skis, boat hire and kayaking.

Karina has two bedrooms (queen and twin) and the possibility for two guests to sleep on a sofa bed.  For two couples or a small family it’s a terrific way to relax and enjoy the best that Lake Como has to offer.
